Tucson Divorce Lawyers

A divorce involves not only the legal dissolution of your marriage, but an entire life transition. After working with hundreds of clients, we understand the difficult toll that divorce and family law disputes can take on our clients and their families. In addition to legal advocacy, we will provide you with the compassionate support you need during the divorce proceeding. We will provide you with resources, tools and advice you need to secure your financial interests and your rights.

We are committed to helping you protect your rights and financial interests as your face the difficult challenge and transition of a divorce. Contact us for more information about marriage dissolution, divorce and separation.

We are able to give every client the focus and attention that they deserve because we purposefully keep our caseload low. We are not a high-volume practice and we do not take every client who walks in the door. For most people, a divorce is uncharted territory. They may not know what to expect and they worry about the future. Our goal is to allay those fears and concerns through strategic counseling, sound guidance and aggressive advocacy.

Protecting your financial interests

One of the most basic concerns at the time of the divorce is your financial security. At the time of divorce, you will divide your assets, including property, earnings and intangibles like retirement accounts and stocks. The court will also make determinations related to spousal maintenance and child support. We will aggressively assert your rights to marital assets as well as your rights to support or defend you against unmanageable support obligations.

Community property in the State of Arizona

Arizona is a community property state, meaning that all property acquired during the marriage through the “labor and effort of the parties” is considered to be marital property. Gifts or inheritance given specifically to one spouse are an exception and are not considered marital property for purposes of property division. Our firm has a great deal of experience litigating the nature of property and can handle complex property issues including asset valuation of family-owned businesses.

Protecting your rights and your children

Divorce can be particularly contentious for parents. We know that you just want what is best for your children. That is why we help you protect your custodial rights and make sure that you end up in the best financial position possible to take care of your children. Years of experience have given us the knowledge necessary to give you a realistic assessment of how Arizona law will decide the issues in your divorce. We will review your rights and your child custody options as well as your child support and visitation rights and obligations. At every stage of the process, you can trust that our sound, compassionate guidance focused on your rights.

We can assist you with all of the following:

  • Divorce
  • Modification of custody
  • Child support
  • Parenting time (sometimes called visitation)
  • Visitation modification
  • Complex property division (business valuation, characterization of community property v. sole and separate property)
  • Spousal maintenance
  • Paternity
  • Relocation (moving out of state)
